Kimi Räikkönen's sunglasses: sporty, classy, cool

Anyone interested in the world of Formula One will definitely have heard of Kimi Räikkönen. He is a Finnish racing driver who has raced in 9 seasons of Formula One (winning the Formula One World Drivers' Championship in 2007), and has also raced in a couple of World Rally Championships. On September 11 of this year, Ferrari announced their signing of Räikkönen, beginning in the 2014 season. Although he has had an incredible career in the racing world so far, especially considering he is only 33 years old (34 this week!), it is actually Kimi Räikkönen's sunglasses that I am excited about.

So, what glasses style does one of the highest paid sportsman in the world (not to mention a huge celebrity in the world of racing) wear? Well, interestingly, Kimi Räikkönen's sunglasses are actually an Oakley Shaun White dispatch edition (below).

These sunglasses caught my eye for a number of reasons. Firstly, I have written another post recently about the diversity of Oakley sunglasses (have a read of it here), and these are another great model. Secondly, the lenses of these are sunglasses are mirrored gold. Not only are mirrored sunglasses extremely popular this year, (have a read here!), the gold reflective lenses of this particular Oakley model are classy, sporty and very masculine.

It seem's that Kimi Räikkönen's sunglasses taste fits perfectly with the primary styles of sunglasses this year for men. They are also a perfect example of how the 80s, sporty style of mirrored lenses are having a big retro comeback. If a true sports star such as Räikkönen is wearing a retro sports style, it must mean that the style is certainly back in!
