Your eyes function dance with time

How does time influence in our daily life? How can you capt one second of it and how does your eyes function fit in all this?

A month already into the new year; and isn´t it curious how time intermittently seems to dash us by?

As you get ready for work, as you go to a class, as you put on and take off those intriguing sunglasses, you just bought, and as the day advances, time is passing; but there are also, periodically, those ever singular moments, that seem to last eternity.

And so, we travel to a second, nay, less...They say the average blink lasts about one tenth of a second.

And how about to a minute? Your eyes close, open, close, repeat, you´re talking on the phone. It´s automatic. Reflex; blink, blink; you blink about twelve times every minute. And this time, what was it anyways? But a number, added numbers, one, two, three, numbers, we find them everywhere.

You step outside, put on your snazzy sunglasses, your eyes immediately protected from the sun.

And did you know your eyes weigh approximately .25 ounces and they are about one inch across. Also, bet you ´t know; each of your eyes are doted with a blind spot? Right in the back of your retina, where the optic nerve attaches, but you don´t notice this small little void in your eyesight, because your eyes function do systematically fill it in.

And yes, let´s continue with numbers but now to time, we travel in time, to concrete dates...

As early as 60 A.D. the Roman emperor Nero would observe the gladiators through pieces of emerald green gemstones, reducing the glare from the sun.

In 1262 sunglasses seemed to have first been mentioned.

In 1784 the first pair of bifocals for farsighted and nearsighted people, are created by Benjamin Franklin.

It´s the 1970s now and sunglasses are solidified as a fashion item.

Every single item; sunglasses, this moment, all moments, a sort of time capsule. This thing in your hand, such a small thing, so many functionalities, interesting little facts. Little pieces of glass mounted round design, emotion, passion, deflecting light, producing fashion.
