A reflection on some of the major styles this Summer by looking at what true trendsetters have been wearing...
Crazy eyewear It's coming to the end of the Summer now as the temperature has well and truly dipped and the sun is coming out less frequently. But that doesn't mean that at Blicker's we aren't still crazy about everything to do with sunglasses! And as a blog about sunglasses ourselves, I want to dedicate this post to looking at some other UK blogger's sunglasses and see what they have been wearing this Summer.
Fashion blogger's are not only up to date on the latest fashion trends, they are also trendsetters themselves. With that in mind, let's reflect on this season's main sunglasses styles and start dreaming about what glasses we will wear next year...
It seems that lots of bloggers like to make slightly eccentric fashion statements, and this certainly applies to this particular blogger - Diary of a Vintage Girl. This modern take on the classic, round, vintage style of glasses are slightly oversized and have tortoiseshell frames (a timeless look that you can read more about here). This UK blogger's sunglasses are therefore a great example of one of the most popular trends of the summer - oversized, round sunglasses.
She also wears a pair of round glasses with clear lenses - a vintage take on the geek-chic look that works very well with her accessories and vintage clothes.
The next UK blogger's sunglasses are the ever so cool glasses of Mademoiselle Robot. Although her clothes are less eccentric, she makes statements with her eyewear. The pair below are a translucent, luminous light green colour, appearing almost comical, like a pair of raving glasses form the 80s. However, combined with her stylish dress, the colour combinations actually work surprisingly well. They also prove that in terms of sunglasses, the trends this Summer can be summed up as 'anything goes', and 'the brighter the better'.
This next pair worn by Mademoiselle Robot is also interesting. The round, pale frames and blue, mirrored lenses brighten up her outfit and give her an edgy, retro look that has been worn by girls as well as guys recently.
The writer of Park and Cube has also worn interesting glasses this Summer. This pair have pink and glittery frames, and are a Carrera model by Jimmy Choo (find them here). Although unique because of their glitteryness, the style of these glasses represents an extremely popular trend this Summer - transparent or colourful wayfarer shaped frames with dark lenses.
The final UK blogger's sunglasses that I want to look at are the glasses worn by the writer of She Wears Fashion. These are undeniably a big statement pair of glasses for those who to dare to wear something very different. They have taken the main Summer trend of round sunglasses to a new level, and made them extremely oversized and include text - 'stick a needle in my eye'. They are a perfect example of how this Summer the trend in eyewear has been bold and diverse.
What I really love about looking at these UK blogger's sunglasses is what they represent. They are just a handful of some of the sunglasses styles that have been worn by trendsetters this Summer, and they prove what an exciting Summer it has been in terms of the daring and diversity of sunglasses... I can't wait to see what sunglasses styles will be big next Summer!
