    Although by no means representing all brands of sunglasses made in Italy, the Luxottica group deserves a special mention of its own, simply because of the group's huge impact on the eyewear world!

    So, what is the Luxottica Group?

    The Luxottica Group is the world's largest eyewear company, that controls over 80% of the world's major eyewear brands. Including globally famous brands in it's 'house brands' list, such as Ray-Ban and Oakley, the Luxottica Group also make sunglasses and prescription frames (under license) for designer brands such as Chanel, Prada, Georgio Armani, and Versace, as well as many more...

    As well as encompassing an incredible portfolio of brands under it's name, the Luxottica group was started by a man named Leonardo Del Vecchio in 1961, who also has an incredible story behind him, that is truly inspirational. Click here to read more about his life changing success.

    Today the Luxottica Group is recognized as the epitome of excellence in Italian eyewear, and is even listed on the stock exchange in New York and Milan! As the Luxottica website states, today "Luxottica is a leader in the design, manufacture, distribution and sales of premium, luxury and sports eyewear." Luxottica is essentially an eyewear company success story on a huge scale, but it has not lost sight of the core reason for the popularity of it's sunglasses, as the website also states: "Every collection, every pair of glasses, is the result of an ongoing process of research and development whose aim is to anticipate and interpret the needs, desires and aspirations of consumers all over the world."
