Eco Glasses: A fresh look at recycling

Our monthly ECOriginality winner: Eco glasses made from skateboards

    Wood and sustainable glasses

Hi everyone! What’s up? Today we want to tell you about some great new ideas in recycling and eco glasses. See what you think of them.

Ecology is not just a fashion, it’s the future, and a lot of manufacturers and businesses are already taking steps to reduce contamination. Designers don’t want to be left behind, of course, and these days we can even find glasses made from recycled materials.

Now is the time to introduce you to our monthly prize winner for ECOriginality: Glasses made from skateboards. This is a brand new brand name called SK8 Shades, created by Dave De Witt that we came across in the ‘Cosafina’ blog.

Dave is a native of Durban, South Africa, who taught himself to make glasses in his garage using recycled skateboards. I don’t have to tell you, Dave is one of the top skate ramp builders in the country!

As we all know, a picture paints a thousand words, so check it out for yourself:

How did he get the idea? Well, we’ll have to leave that for another day…Obviously this guy has fun designing and making these minimalist glasses, apart from other projects. We love ‘em!
